The
Mothers Club of MBA functions in the capacity of an auxiliary
providing help to the students, faculty and staff in a variety
of areas. It provides fund raising activities and organizes
receptions in support of academic and on-campus extra curricular
programs.
The major fund raiser is the annual Spaghetti
Supper which is usually attended by some 5000 people. Other fund
raisers are the sale of the Sports
Programs at football games and the Used
Book sale held each spring at the end of exams. Through the Mothers
Club receptions are organized for the Theater, Art and Music performances; holiday
gifts and decorations occur;
breakfasts, luncheons, dinners and picnics are organized to honor students,
faculty, new families, and prospective families; the Library and Big
Red Store are staffed with volunteers; and the selection and
coordination of Class Mothers.
With an annual budget in excess of $100,000, the Mothers Club provides
financial support for faculty and staff requests ranging from science
lab equipment to athletic supplies to faculty development travel. While
the work of the Mothers Club may be fun, the results are serious and
meaningful to all the MBA community
For more information about any of
these activities or if you are interested in volunteering,
you may contact the Volunteer
Coordinator, Board
President, or any of the Board
Committee Chairs.
