| News and Notes: |
| August 25: Despite intense heat and heavy humidity,
the MBA Microbe CC Team captured its first victory of the year by defeating
BA(2), USN(3), CPA(4), and FRA(5) at the Vaughn's Creek course. After
a month of training in record high temperatures, all of the young MBA
runners performed admirably in their first meet and had six place in
the top ten finishers. Top Microbe runners included Shep Patterson (2nd
overall), Sam Embry(3), Ryan Hill(4), Steven Gaitens(5), Quinton Burks(8),
and Matt "The Bullet" Bellett(9). If strong numbers are any
indication of a strong season, then the Microbes are sure to have a great
year with record participation of 43 team members. The next HVAC meet
is Thursday, September 1 at the USN river campus. |
| September 1: The Microbe CC Team captured its second
victory of the year by fending off David Lipscomb (2), USN(3), BGA(4),
and DCA(5). The top five finishers for the Microbes included Shep Patterson(2),
Sam Embry(3), Ryan Hill(5), Rob Higham(8), and John Baker(10). The team
continues to improve as it faces challenging workouts. All runners are
to be commended for their efforts. Congratulations! |
