News and Notes:

November 5: The Hockey Team lost a tough game to Overton on Friday night 10-0. The boys put forth a great effort against a very talented Overton team and are looking forward to rebounding this Friday night against Hume Fogg at 7:00.

November 12:The Ice Hockey team rallied behind goalie Ian Anderson Friday night to overcome a 3-1 deficit and tied Hume-Fogg on Friday night. Mark Piana led the team with two goals and Alex Mazzoni added the tying goal in the third period.

November 19: The Ice Hockey Team defeated Brentwood Academy on Friday night 3-0. The team was lead by Joseph Alexander who had two goals and Chris Fike who added one goal. Ian Anderson clinched his first Varsity win and shutout as the starting goalie.

December 3: The Ice Hockey Team defeated Beech 2-0 on Friday night. Alex Mazzoni assisted on both of the goals, which were scored by Chris Fike and Mark Piana. Ian Anderson secured the win with great play in goal. Thank you for all the fan support on Friday night.

December 10: The Ice Hockey Team fell to Mt. Juliet on Friday night 6-3. Joseph Alexander led the team with two goals and Rob Phipps added one goal. The team will look to rebound against Father Ryan after Christmas Break. Thanks to all of our loyal fans for their support throughout the first half of the season.

January 7: The Ice Hockey Team defeated Father Ryan on Friday night 5-2. Goals were scored by Chris Fike, Alex Mazzoni, Dan Skarzynski, and TWO by Rob Phipps. Hunter Armistead, Brooks Jones and Weston Cowden also did a great job on the defensive end.

January 11: The Ice Hockey Team had a great victory beating FRA 9-2. Joesph Alexander led the team with 3 goals, Mark Piana had 2, Alex Mazzoni had 2, Weston Cowden and Zach Skarzinski each scored their first Varsity Ice Hockey goals of the year. The team put forth a great effort and please come support the team Friday night at 10:00 p.m. for a huge game against Brentwood High.

Posted January 25: The Ice Hockey Team went 3-1 over the last two weeks as they managed to fit in some exercise during exams. The team lost to Brentwood High 6-0, then beat FRA, BGA, and Page. The team will take on Hillwood on Wed. night at Sportsplex.

January 26: The Ice Hockey Team tied Hillwood last night 5-5. The team will look to reboud Friday night against Centennial. The game is at 6:40 at Southern Ice, any support would be greatly appreciated.

January 28: The Ice Hockey team was defeated by Centennial on Friday night 6-0. The team fought hard and outshot them 25-20, but just could not get the puck in the net.

February 4: The Ice Hockey Team defeated Ravenwood 5-1 on Friday night. Goals were scored by Rob Phipps(2), Mark Piana, Jed Crumbo, and Chipo Mulaishio. The team will play JP2 Tuesday night at 9:00 at the Sportsplex.

February 8: The Ice Hockey Team defeated JP2 last night 6-2. Chipo Mulaisho scored 2 goals, Alex Mazzoni, Brooks Jones, Jed Crumbo, and Hunter Armistead also added a goal each. Please come support the team Friday Night at 7:00 at the Sportsplex. We play Hendersonville and it will be a very tough, physical game. The more fan noise, the better. Join the team for a party at Frist Hall immediately following the game. Thank you.

February 15: The Ice Hockey Team defeated Franklin High School yesterday 5-1. Ian Anderson played a strong game in goal. Jed Crumbo, Chris Fike, Rob Phipps, Mark Piana, and Joseph Alexander scored goals. The team also tied Hendersonville High School Friday night 2-2. The team fought hard and were led by Captain Alex Mazzoni with both goals. The team will wait for the playoff schedule and look to be playing next Monday night in the first game of the playoffs.

February 21: The Ice Hockey Team defeated Ravenwood last night 2-1 for their first playoff win of the year. Jed Crumbo led the team on senior night by scoring both goals. The game-winner was scored with only 2 minutes left. Ian Anderson played a strong game in goal. The team continues their playoff run tonight against Centennial at Southern Ice at 9:30. Any support would be greatly appreciated, we will keep you posted on games to follow in the daily announcements.
