MBA/Harpeth Hall Collaborative Program

Harpeth Hall School/ Montgomery Bell Academy Collaborative Program Mission Statement:

The Harpeth Hall School/ Montgomery Bell Academy Collaborative Program allows each school to enhance and broaden current curricular and extracurricular offerings while maintaining the benefits and strong traditions of our single gender communities.

7th and 8th Grade Events 2004-2005 High School Calendar

The Collaborative Program's activities have included the following:

Academics

  • The Arts
    • Theater Kicked off by the Fall Musical, theater productions provide more than 100 students the opportunity to perform on stage and to provide technical support back stage.
    • Creative Writing Led by faculty members from each school, Harpeth Hall and MBA upper school students meet in the evenings to write, discuss, and share their work with one another.
    • Band, Chorus, Dance & Orchestra Throughout the year, opportunities to play in the band and orchestra, to sing in the chorus, and to participate in the dance concerts are open to students from each school.
  • Library Resources
    • By linking our libraries, Harpeth Hall and MBA students have access to one of the largest and most up-to-date collections in the Southeast among independent schools, including over 40,000 volumes and 10 online databases.
  • Visiting Speakers
    • Nationally renowned experts and authors as well as local health care and legal professionals visit each campus addressing students, faculty, and parents about topics and challenges unique to adolescents.

Extracurricular

  • College Counseling
    • Admissions officers, financial aid experts, and other professionals familiar with the transition from high school to college help guide students and parents with various phases of the college search and the selection process.
    • College trips offered during the summer allow students from both schools the chance to visit and research numerous colleges across the country.
  • Community Service
    • Throughout the year, both Middle and Upper School students are able to participate in a wide range of service projects such as park and neighborhood clean-ups, Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity and many more.
  • Athletics
    • Students from each school are able to benefit from the many resources on each campus as the athletic directors and coaches frequently work to coordinate schedules and to share field space and transportation to away events.
  • Social Activities
    • Planned activities brings students from both schools together for recreational activities.
  • Trips
    • In addition to the college trips, Outdoor Club trips are offered throughout the year giving students the chance to explore the outdoors both in and outside of Tennessee.
    • During the summer, all students have many travel opportunities from experiencing new cultures in Europe to snorkeling in the Florida Keys. Trip offerings are constantly changing from year to year.


The Harpeth Hall School and Montgomery Bell Academy are located in West Nashville. Conveniently, the schools are only minutes away from one another, approximately 2.7 miles apart.
