Citing Online Databases:
To cite an article, a poem, a short
story, or a similar short work or document within a database, begin the
citation with the author's name and, in quotation marks, the title of the
work. If no author is given, begin the citation with the title of the material,
in quotation marks. Continue with the relevant information for the project
or database, the date of access, and the URL; be sure to give the URL
of the specific work or document rather than that of the project or database
if they are different. (This information comes directly from the MLA
Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, 5th ed. 1999.) Name
of Author (if given).
General Format:
Name of Author (if given). "Title of article." Relevant
information for the database - This includes the database name, the version
number, date of the electronic publication and name of any sponsoring institution
or organization. The date of access <The URL>.
