The Ball
Building is named after legendary MBA Headmaster Isaac Ball, who directed
the school from 1911 until his retirement in the fall of 1942. Originally
the home of Mr. Garland Tinsley on a estate known as 'Totomoi' (the name
subsequently bestowed upon one of the school's Honor Societies), the school
opened in this building in 1915. A fire in 1925 left only the exterior
walls. After a year of rebuilding, Ball Hall reopened and served as the
main classroom and administrative building, the school library, and residence
of the Headmaster and his family. Extensively remodeled in 1992, the building
today houses administrative offices and the main faculty room on the ground
and first floors, classrooms on the second floor, and development offices
on the third floor. |
